Hello fellow "Jabbers",
For those of you who are looking for something dirtier than the AHA/MHBA
rally to do on Saturday:
we are having (hopefully) the final demolition/cleanup volunteer event to
prep the 1854 brewery ruins (formerly Strunk, Strunk-Nyssen, and later
Shakopee Brewery) so we can get a structural engineer and architect(s) to
advise on the next moves.
Our goal is to have at least part of the building ready for home,
community, and nano-brewing by fall 2014.
It'll be really nice to save this very historic building from collapse and
bring it back into brewing after a very long hiatus. It became a brewery
and later a distillery because of the artesian spring and the nearby
spring-fed lakes for ice block harvesting.
We could really use some help, especially now before weeds and bugs
proliferate within the ruins.
The invite is attached...
Hope some of you can make it!
Cheers!
Trenk
