Subject: Brewery Demo Party 2.0!
Hello Friends and Family,
Last Saturday's "Demo Party" was a smashing success!! (Fun intended).
We estimate that demo of the south wing of the pre-statehood brewery formerly known as "Strunk Brewery", "Strunk-Nyssen Brewery" and "Shakopee Brewery" got to 55%. Wow!
22 volunteers showed up, signed the required liability waiver, (YES, there is danger here), and jumped right into the fray. Everyone who was down with going into the underground lagering rooms got the "Hardhat Tour". The bonfire of wood debris is still burning today...
We pulled down the rafters and half of the interior floors, separated the material into salvageable lumber, burning wood, recycling, and garbage. Brandi roasted organic brats and sausages and we all enjoyed "Doon Brews" and Schell's (from up the river a ways). Somehow the sound system stayed busy...
At the end of the day, most people were asking "When are we going to do it again?" (I wasn't even over the surprise of the first one).
So Trenk texted Benn ("the instigator") yesterday, looked at the calendar, and figured next Saturday February 9th, 2013 would be best because of weather (and the following weekend being Valentine's Day).
So there it is: Whoever would like to help finish off that wing so we can save it and rehab it into a homebrew/community brew space on it's way to being a microbrewery again someday is invited anytime from 9am on.
