Members!
We're looking to see if anyone has an interest in becoming an officer or if
you have ideas for activities for the club in 2015?
Don't take this to mean that anyone is quitting. Just that it would be good
to get some more people active for the club. And, some competition for
officer positions would be good anyway!
Be warned, if you have an idea, you will probably be asked to follow through
on it.

A friend of mine works here and asked for my help in seeing if anyone would
be interested in such a program. If so, they have a survey they would love
for you to take.
Please share as needed.

Subject: 2015 Minnesota Mashout Update
Howdy.
We just wanted to give you an update on the Minnesota Mashout so far. We're
a bit surprised this year how fast registration is filling up. We've been
open for five days and we are just over halfway to reaching out entry cap of
1,000 entries. So if you're planning on entering, get your entries
registered and paid for so you don't miss out on your chance.
We are also extending the drop off/shipping window to ensure there are no
problems with the holidays and to ensure our foreign friends time for their
beers to get here. There is a group from Sweden and Norway sending beers,
extending the Mashout's reach beyond the Americas back to the Old World.
So, all entries must be received by end-of-day on January 5th, 2015.
We are looking forward to all the entries, and another great competition.
Regards,
The 2015 Minnesota Mashout Organizers

Just a quick reminder - registration for the 2015 Minnesota Mashout opens

of 1,000 entries which we will definitely hit again so enter early, enter
often!
A few important points about registration:
- Registration closes on 31 December at 4:00 PM Central time,
or when we reach the entry limit.
- All entries must be *received* by 31 December at 4:00 PM Central time.
- Local Twin Cities dropoffs are at the two Northern Brewer retail

We are finalizing the banquet details, so you'll see another email soon with

JAB holiday party!
At <https://www.facebook.com/mlebben> Mike Lebben's place this year on
December 12 (1810 Carriage Drive in Victoria) stating around the usual
meeting time of 6:30. We will be running this just like every year.
1) Pot luck! Bring something to eat/share.
2) Bring your spouse!
3) Gift Exchange! If you want to take part, bring a wrapped/bagged beer
related gift item valued between $10-25 or so and go home with another
random gift. Bring something you would be excited about...this is NOT a
while elephant crap gift! If your spouse wants to take part bring a second
gift along (Sj and I always each do one.)
Hope to see you all soon!

I know we'll need stewards, I'll probably be Head Steward again.

It's just about Mashout time again!
Yup, it's going to be the thirteenth iteration anniversary and we're getting ready for yet another awesome Mashout!
The Mashout will take place on January 23rd and 24th, 2015. For you volunteers, and if you aren't one you really gotta get on board, the judging will be at Grumpys-Roseville again as it’s a great place with killer beer and food. We'll be doing a lot of the really cool stuff we always do...plus a few new angles. You'll be wined and dined like no other competition in the nation plus your standard commemorative beer and glass.
We'll have lunchtime speakers, again, for your enjoyment. For Friday lunch, Steve Piatz talking abou meads - how to make them, what to expect, etc. For Saturday lunch, Jace Marti will be chatting about sours.
The massively popular Friday night Piss-up will be back and better than ever. There will be some stuff a lot of you guys have never tried before! As always, the ever awesome Cellar beer event will be the hallmark of the evening.
This year, the overall Best of Show beer will also have the option to have their beer brewed by Bent Brewstillery here in Roseville.
Finally, the banquet is always a great time. This year's dinner is going to be a beer pairing dinner in conjunction with the great folks from Goose Island. Last year we were full and seats, again, are sure to sell out quickly so get your tickets ASAP. You again get a commemorative glass, meal, beers and the debauchery that follows.
So, what are the important dates?
- Registration opens on 12 December.
- Registration closes at the end of the day, on 31 December.
- The Mashout happens on 23 and 24 January.
- The banquet happens the evening of 24 January.
So, just like the election, enter early and enter often! We cap out entries at 1,000 and we've hit that in previous years.
See you there!
